OOC: There is a password to the library which all students should be aware of but non-members are unable to get in

The library, quiet quiet, thankfully for those who spend their time within the sanctuary full of knowledge, is disturbed briefly by the sound of the door opening then shutting. No-one really looks up as a water elf, dressed head to toe in blue, wanders inside, then hunts around. He seems quite specific in his search, and spends about half an hour on one set of shelves, silently muttering incoherently, but from the ever increasing frown, is getting more and more frustrated in his search.

Spending a fair amount of time looking about, the elf produces a set of books. One is a History book, recording the events of the war against Erathil. One is a book that contains references to the Coshwoods. One is a book that makes mention of the fall of Levelas, god of water, and he instantly opens it to this, searching through this particular extract for something...the next book is a compilation on the races of Velamneth, opened on the pages to do with the Winter elves, and lastly, a book about Rituals used on Velmaneth of note...

The first book is left open on the first page beginning with the mention of the Winter elves being used by Erathil, and the Heart of Winter.
The second book is opened on the section that began with the Coshwoods creations, both legends and marked and able to be read over.
The third is opened from the beginning of the particular part to do with Levelas.
The fourth is already open on the page of the Winter elves.
The final is ear-makrded on several pages that mention rituals used by Erathil, especially any notes on the Heart of Winter.

Vana then takes out a quill and some parchment, scribbling notes...
There had to be something that history could tell him, even if it was subtle...

Kel soon finds Vana poring over his books, and lightly touches him on the shoulder to attract his attention. She whispers so as not to disturb the other students.

Vana, there's a winter elf, or a very cold water elf named Tutain waiting outside for you. Would you like to come and see him?

After waiting to see whether he'll follow her or not, she returns to Tutain in the entrance hall.

Back in the library, Vana pours over the books within, absorbed in his work, and looking quite frustrated. Throughout the day so far, the water elf had been cursing under his breath occasionally, usually something about Erathil. As it was, the bastard had'nt left behind any reliable sources on the Heart, nor anything about its creation. The damn thing didnt seem to have any reliable text upon it. However, shifting through the garbage and theories about it (usually the theories were near blasphemous. Ideas about using such a thing to control the Winter Elves, the methods to doing so [again, as Vana had said eloquently: horsecrap], and whether it could be used on Water Elves. Vana made a mental note to greet such people as the writers of these particular texts with something nasty, involving an icicle, ten gallons of water, and a quill), he DID find something that seemed to be agreed upon.

The Heart seemed to be either something Erathil crafted himself, or was something born of the Winter Elves themselves. No-one but Erathil seemed competent enough to use it however, though as he is the strongest Ritualist in existence, such a thing seemed quite within his grasp. Problem was that no-one had any clue how this might be achieved, and no rituals were shown to have any reliable way of discerning such a thing.
All in all, Vana was annoyed. Erathil may well have made the bloody thing and customised it to he himself. That, or Vana's God might have had something to do with it, if one believed the legend about Water Elves becoming Winter Elves (Vana was 98% sure this was what HAD happened, though the Winter Elf Coshwood threw a hole in that theory. Maybe he was going senile. Yee Gods, the horror! A lifetime of book reading and tampering with the fabric of creation, undone by old age?) then it became a likely case of it being a relic from Levelas...and the idea that the thing had been used by ERATHIL would then become blasphemous.

He sighed and book marked another page of a book, about a certain High Elf that had noted things he observed about the Heart when under Erathil. It had taken Vana hours to find that tiny extract, and it hardly seemed worth it, but it was SOMETHING.

A cleaner pokes his head around the door.

"Mr Vana, sir. There's a chap at the main entrance asking about the Heart of Winter - isn't that something to do with what you are researching?"

Out in the corridor, Irisis stopped. Then, walking into the library, said coolly, "truly, Vana? You have performed research concerning the Heart of Winter?"
Then, sitting in one of the library armchairs, lounging back, added "I hear the topic's all the rage these days. Do tell me more." She smiled. "In fact, why don't we both go meet this visitor together?"

Amavaine enters the library, accompanied by Tutain. "Vana, are you here? we need to... she stops abruptly as she sees a stranger with him. "Oh! Hello" she says, surveying Irisis warily.

*never having understood the policy on libraries remaining quiet Incognito Huffed when the clerk turned her back on him, rolling the note back up and placing it under his cloths as he climbed on her desk, calling out to the library as a town cryer would*
"hear us hear us! Staff and students alike a mystery is afoot in these very scholarly halls."
"Our own dear Celeste has vanished, we hold a valuable clue to her location but we need help."

*noticing the irritated looks on some of the staff's faces at his public announcement he rolled down off the desk and ran over to the doors, holding them open as he called back into the library* 
"we require aid of one who can make what was once damaged whole again, to repair this valuable clue"
"hurry now time is of the essence dreamers of magic!"

*breaking off into a happy giggle he quickly shut the doors and skipped off down the hall way alittle, waiting to see if anyone took the bait of intrigue.*

Not remotely surprised by the outburst, the librarian sneered as she picked up the pile of non-returned book letters that was sent flying as that moron flambouyantly
made his exit. She'd heard of Celeste. Couldn't remember seeing her though. So she was missing. So what? Hardly as important as her immediate priority of stock taking. She might consider looking more closely when that was finished though. If it ever got finished. If any books ever got returned. On the side was one death magic book splattered with what looked dubiously like blood, a water magic book that seemed to be covered in pondweed and yet another bag of ashes. Bloody fire magic students.

Kel walks into the library and turns to the librarian.
Sorry to bother you, have you seen a jester fellow with a mask? He was waving a bit of paper at me earlier and I promised I'd see him...

As the jester ran past, Tutain steps aside to avoid being knocked into, then on a whim, unable to see what it was that needs repairing, casts

"May your mind flow as water and return to its true shape." ((OOC: Ranged Repair, Head (not the armour or clothing, targeting Incognito's head))), the ice around his features melting away again as he does.

He then turns and heads back into the library, returning his attention to more important matters, like the woman sitting by Vana. There is a certain elven cast to her features, but she certainly isn't an elf. He frowns slightly as he nods to her, then turns his attention back to Vana for the moment. "Vana, we need to talk."

As Kel walls in, the librarian changes attitude. Better be polite to the boss. 'Sure. He was here a minute ago. Drawing attention to himself and disturbing the peace.'

*as Incognito closed the doors to the library he felt his head tingling, the strange feeling of magic washing over him causing him to shudder and twitch as he walked down the hall waiting.

Sitting in the hall way for a while he sighed as he watched the door and shook his head, surprised at the lack of enthusiasm from the other students in the library he looked around in boredom, eyeing up a stair way he wasn't familiar with.*
"do our eyes deceive us? This is definitely new or we would of danced that way before."
"we do believe you are right, perhaps down that way lies aid for our quest?"

*without needing anymore encouragement then the thrill of something new, Incognito abandoned his post and started to walk down the narrow passageway and pranced down the stairs*

Vana, slightly shocked out of his absorption in the texts by Irisis, and not quite comfortable with her closeness, and familiar speech considering he had no recollection of any such woman, gave her a brief glance, expression dull.
Feel free to look through the books if you wish. I cant tell you much more than what is in here. I've made bookmarks, so that might help, help yourself.

Beyond this, the Water Elf showed little to no interest in Irisis otherwise, looking back down. As Amavaine entered, he glanced up once more, curious as to her surprise, raising an eyebrow, expectantly, but nothing more. As the Jester enters, Vana gives a look much akin to horror or confusion, rubs his temples, mutters something under his breath, and keeps reading. Apparently, people today were only interested in being disruptive.

As Tutain comes in (yet another disturbance to his work! Couldnt he spend five minutes on this without being interrupted?), Vana glances up, eyeing him coolly, with a slight nod of the head, and gestures to a chair opposite him on the desk, scanning a page with his finger, before scribbling something on a note pad. FInally, he looks up at Tutain, silently, waiting for the Elf to speak.
