A meeting of some kind

*Aratain woke gently to the kiss, only to hear Krisak yelp. He sat up quickly and noticed Kriska's hand in the fire, not being withdrawn. He moved quickly and pulled her hand from the fire, holding her and channeling life energies into the burns, watching them heal. He looked up to Kriska's face and noticed her eyes were completely dilated. Wondering what was going to he held her and watched.*

[Gumboots]

*Ten slow minutes past and Kriska slowly started to come around, her eyes once again focusing on things. She struggled a little against Aratains hold but eventually she relaxed and burried her head into his shoulder. Her voice quiet.*

"Death! So much death! I have not had it that bad since I was woundering around with the End in my head."

*She pulls away a little.*

"Something terrible has happened, or is about to happen or is happening at this very moment. Mass death is sweeping the land, people lying dead. It wont stop unless we help to stop it. Aratain, we must hurry. Would you like some breakfast?"

*It is only then that she notices that she is feeling increadibly hot and that her arm is cold. Looking down she see's a burnt sleve. Her expression quizical.*

*Aratain double takes at the question of breakfast after what he had just been told. Then he shrugged, perhaps Kriska could not help stop such on an empty stomach, but his hunger required death. Still to humour her and to give her something else to think about he sat back a little and spoke in a non-plussed voice.*

"Breakfast would be good."

[Gumboots]

*Kriska raises an eyebrow and gathers the food and drink up.*

"Here, it's not much but I know that you would might like to try it."

*She eats her little bit of food and tea, then stands looking at Aratain.*

"Exscuse me one moment."

*She moves into the bushes quickly, she goes just out of his vision, and in no time at all she seemed to be back with a small rabit in hand. Her sleve repaired.*

"Here, this is freash, just caught. Also I can cook it up after you have finished with it. It's a shame for there were three other traps, There is another in it. I just hate it when people put so many traps down in one area, it does not work and when it does it can cause terrible problems. I distroyed two of the traps by disarming them. Hopefully the person will think twice next time. Enjoy."

*She hands over the rabbit.*

[quillkeeper]

*Aratain catches the rabbit and drains the soul out of the hapless creature. Animals did little to appease his hunger, but they always took the edge off if it for a while.*

"Thanks. Did you say there was another one caught? Perhaps we could take it with us and save it for a later meal."

*He hands the rabbit's carcass back to Kriska.*

[Gumboots]

*Kriska proceeds to strip it and then place it on the fire.*

"No it is good to leave one for the trapsman, that way they do not go hungry. It is better that way, besides if the trapper does not get it then the next animal will. Either way we will need to move fairly quickly."

*She looks at the pittyful fire.*

"And in that fire I do not think we are going to be quick."

*She looks back to Aratain.*

"Do you mind making it quicker?"

[quillkeeper]

*Aratain smiles ands fire sparks behind his eyes. He looks towards the small fire and suddenly it becomes a Lesser Inferno.*

"Is that Better?"

[Gumboots]

*Kriska roles her eyes back as she backs very quickly away from the fire.*

"Now how am I supposed to get it out?"

*After she notices that it is well and truely cooked she sighs and waits for the flames to go down. After retreiving the rabbit and wrapping it in leaves she places it in her bag, which seems to be now over flowing. She stands up after finishing her breakfast.*

"Shall we go?"

*She leads the way on to The Shrine of Lenemo and waits just inside, keeping an eye out for any sign for the Haran and his men.*

[bedevere]

*A small orb of glowing light appears in front of Kriska. Inside it, the image of the Haran can be seen.*

Greetings. I apologise I cannot be there in person at the moment. I am needed to be in Ingolé for now.

[Gumboots]

*Kriska frowns and nods.*

"I can imagin. How are you? Or would you like me to get straight to the point?"

[bedevere]

Getting to the point would be preferred greatly.

[Gumboots]

*Kriska makes herself comfortable.*

"There are a couple things that I would like to ask. Why can I still not move freely in these lands? I protect these lands as much as you sometimes seem to. Also the pain you sent throgh my friends when you ellected yourself to become the haran. What was your true intent in binding the minds of the Larkants to you will? Why are they working mindlessly for you? I have seen them, I know what it has done to some of their minds. I even know from one of my errr.... Collegues what has happened to them. Also what news has arrived from the villages?"

*The last little bit seemed to be said with deep concern in her voice.*

Why can you not travel freely? I know of no reason why not. If any of my men have opposed you, then I shall ensure they are... enlightened as to their errors.

I did NOT elect myself. I was elected by the will of the people. Please do not make this mistake again. It is one that greatly irritates me.

When I performed the ritual to which you refer, I was attempting to open the results of the election of the Larkants to them, to prove I was due their respect. However, interference by you heroes ruined it, leaving them as useless thralls, rather than the free thinking individuals that I was hoping would abide by the will of their majority.

Sadly, even I lack the power to correct two rituals combining the power of myself, the god of magic, and the being that went on to be the god of rituals briefly. I am doing what I can to correct that, but it is a very long process, and one that will have more problems before it is solved.

As for the villages? Information is as yet incomplete. Given the tendency of heroes to go off and kill my men as soon as anything happens, I see no reason to share what information I do have. I am sure your colleagues will find reason enough for bloodshed at the expense of the Telerfret empire either way, though.

[Gumboots]

*Kriska breifly shows mild horror and shock.*

"It has happened then!"

*She sighs and thinks.*

"I appologise for annoying you. I do not wish to see the villages hurt any more. Are you sending your troops out to try and ease and possibly stop the suffering? If you are can we maintain a small truse. This is hurting the land that I protect, can we try and for once work together with no catches? Do you know how many villages so far?"

[bedevere]

Give me a reason to share this information, and I will consider doing so. Until then, I would rather be focusing my efforts on solving the issues at hand, rather than cooperating with people who have in the past repeatedly been the cause of, rather than the solution to, large scale death and suffering.
