4 o'clock tea

Postby Damiensluman » Fri Aug 10, 2012 2:35 pm

A human is sat behind a great oak desk in a small but grand looking study.

A plain dressed but smart looking human approaches. He places a teapot with a cup and saucer in front of the man.

My lord, your 4 o'clock tea.
Is there anything else you need?

He waits for a response

The grand oak desk is covered in paperwork. the man behind it is leaning on it with his head in his hands.
After a few seconds he looks up and grabs a folder the reads "accounts".
"I think I can do it."
He looks at his butler and then at the clock.
"thank you. on time as usual. Tho I dont ever remember saying I want tea at 4 o'clock every day?"

The man bows slightly
It is merely the tradition my lord to rest ones mind and soul
Your predecessor swore by it

Alexander leans back in his chair still holding the folder.

"everythings about tradition with you."

he looks at his butler and is clearly in deep thought.

"If i beigin my new venture and it doesnt pay off i could loss everything and you your job. however if it does work i could be richer then ever and the people get the important information they never could told. it could give a lot more power to the people. answer me honestly. is it worth the risk?"

The butler bows slightly.
My Lord, I am merely your butler. I have no knowledge of business or sales.
But if you were to ask my opinion I'd say that the information you are looking to pass out is priceless. In this time of conflicts i believe that the paper will help to unite the human kind against a greater foe. In my opinion this is something our kind need.
As for tradition, sir if we are to truly progress we must know where we have come from.
Building the future and preserving our past is one and the same thing.

Once again he bows slightly

Alexander smiles.

"of course you're right."

He stands up and walks around the desk to the butler. He passes him the folder labeled accounts.

"take this to my accountant and ask him to start looking for premises and equipment I can afford. Also see if you can find something or someone with the knowledge to capture images. Start with the telefret they may know of some magic that could help."

He then turns to the pot of tea and that's pouring a cup.
